Annual Fire Safety Statements

In NSW’s from the 1st of July 2020 under the new FPAS scheme, only those persons accredited as ‘competent fire safety practitioners‘ under the Fire Protection Association Australia Fire Protection Accreditation Scheme’ are authorised to endorse fire safety measures on supplementary or annual fire safety statements.

Background: In 2017, the NSW Government introduced reforms through the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2000 (the Regulation) to strengthen fire safety certification for new and existing buildings.

These reforms aim to improve the rigour and checking in the design, approval, construction and maintenance phases of the building life cycle.

Scope of activities for Annual Fire Safety Certificates

There are three different classes of work to consider:

Fire Sprinkler Systems
Fire Hydrant and Hose Reel Systems
Fire Detection and Alarm Systems

FSD Consultancy are accredited to inspect the different types of fire safety measure devices installed in the building. There are different classes of work, and not all inspectors are accredited to endorse each class of work.

We provide all services relating to Fire audits and Fire certification of all fire measures including Interim Fire Safety Certificate and Final Fire Safety Certificate.
